Under One Roof
At The Emerge Center, we take a different approach. We strive to offer a number of services that relate to our unique populations under one roof for children and families in and around Greater Baton Rouge. Not only does this reduce stress for family members and caregivers; our team treatment approach allows for the best possible success for our patients and clients. At Emerge, we believe we are better if we work together. Our staff collaborates with each other and with families in an intentional way to produce the best possible success for every child and adult that comes through our doors. Whether you seek assessment, treatment, or all of the above, Emerge is your one-stop-shop for communication, behavior, and developmental difficulties in south Louisiana.
Services for All
Emerge was founded for children who had gone deaf from Rubella in 1960. Ever since that time, we’ve had a finger on the pulse of the Baton Rouge community, filling the gap in local therapeutic programs and making sure services are accessible to all in our community, regardless of financial background. As a non-profit center, it is our mission to serve those with limited resources. We strive to operate as competitive businesses in today’s economy. We accept private insurance and private pay patients, who are consistently pleased with our staff’s compassionate nature and expertise. We offer financial assistance and need-based scholarships as available, to ensure that no one leaves our program before their work with us is done.
Setting the Standard
Because of our multi-disciplinary approach to care, Emerge has the flexibility to adapt programs to meet the needs of our community. In the early 1980s, we introduced a program for children with autism and other social delays to receive intensive intervention in a group setting, enabling them to address social deficits while working on other therapeutic goals. In 2004, we partnered with the LSU Department of Psychology to pioneer a multi-disciplinary program to treat young children with autism. We have since learned that this program is similar to the one being used at pace-setting treatment facilities around the country. We boast the highest-trained therapist for treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech in Louisiana. Our clients and patients are afforded the highest-caliber services and technology in practice today. From cutting-edge digital hearing aids, to therapeutic iPad apps and smartboards in classrooms, Emerge is one of the most impressive centers of its kind in the state.
