Healthy Louisiana/ Medicaid
If you are eligible for Medicaid, your physician must fax the referral to the Center at 225-343-4233 before any appointment can be scheduled.
Upon arrival, please have your current Medicaid card along with any applicable registration forms. Louisiana Medicaid covers Speech/Language and Audiology services for persons up to age 21.
The Emerge Center is a member of a variety of private insurance networks. To ensure that we are a participating provider for your insurance, please call our office to inquire. Please remember that participation in a network does not assure coverage for our services. Your personal insurance plan will determine your benefits.
You will be responsible for any co-payments, deductibles and charges not covered by insurance. Clients not within the network are responsible for full payment at the time services are rendered.
We will provide a receipt for you which includes the information necessary for reimbursement with your insurance company. For services not covered by insurance, please contact our office for private pay options.
Although we do everything we can to ensure that your child receives the services he or she needs, it is your responsibility to know the inclusions and exclusions of your insurance policy. Please contact your insurance provider(s) to ensure that your services are covered. It is the responsibility of each patient to be aware of benefits provided by his/her carrier and plan.
Payment Options and Financial Assistance
All payments and co-payments are due at the time of service. The policy holder’s date of birth and address must be provided in order to process your payment.
Patients can also be set up on Easy Pay, for an easier and more convenience securing your payments. Click here to fill out the Easy Pay Consent Form.
Thanks to our generous donors and support from Capital Area United Way, we are able to provide services to all, regardless of their ability to pay.
You might be eligible for fee reductions, which are set up through a separate contract. From there, you can set up an appointment with the Emerge Center business office to determine a contracted rate, due dates and method of payment.
To apply for reduced fees, click here and download the application for Financial Assistance.
If you intend to apply for financial assistance, you will need to also submit a copy of your child’s Pupil Appraisal Evaluation. Many scholarships available to our students require an evaluation* by a Louisiana public school district determining your child to have any one of the following exceptionalities:
- Developmental Delays
- Mental Disability
- Other Health Impairments
- Specific Learning Disabilities
- Traumatic Brain Injury
*If you do not have an evaluation from a Louisiana Public School District (often called Pupil Appraisal Office), you should request to start this process immediately by contacting your parish’s Pupil Appraisal department. Click HERE for the appropriate contact information.
If you do not have a completed Pupil Appraisal Evaluation by the application deadline for the Emerge program you’re applying to, you must submit a copy of the completed Pupil Appraisal Permission to Evaluate form indicating that the 60 day window to complete the evaluation has started.
Please mail or deliver your application with all requested documentation to:
The Emerge Center, Attention: Business Office
7784 Innovation Park Drive
Baton Rouge, LA 70820
Please note: You will be charged full fees for services you receive until you have written confirmation of reduction in fees from the Emerge Center business office.
