Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is very different from physical therapy. We like to describe OT as therapy that helps your child adapt to everyday movements and physical sensations that they may not naturally be comfortable with.

Our goal at The Emerge Center is to help your child be the best he or she can be.  In occupational therapy, our licensed therapists work hand-in-hand with your child to develop their sensory-motor skills. We strive to build a solid foundation of skill sets that are applicable to your child’s future development.

At Emerge, we offer state-of-the-art services for patients in the Baton Rouge area in a variety of settings. Our indoor sensory gym gives children the opportunity to learn through play in an interactive, structured environment. Here they improve their fine motor skill and develop their sensory input aptitude. In the classroom setting, OT can be combined with our Foundation Program (Group Speech-Language therapy) to provide multiple interventions in tandem, reinforcing the child’s overall therapeutic goals.
